Southpoint is hosting this workshop which is provided by Oakwood, in partnership with Gleaners Community Food Bank.
The Cooking Matters™ workshop is a six-week commitment, presented by trained culinary and nutrition instructors. Includes hands-on presentations on the link between nutrition and health, the affordability of healthy eating, being self-sufficient in the kitchen and general nutritional principles. Free of charge, with free groceries and free cookbooks included. Thursdays, July 9 – August 13, 2-4pm, at 5699 Fort Street, Trenton, MI 48183.

There is free childcare available for all of these classes. On Sunday mornings, you can check kids into their normal programs during service time; For all other sessions, you must pre-register by the Sunday prior to the class.
CORE CLASS 1: INTRODUCING THE CHURCH
Sunday, July 12, 10am-1pm, at the Trenton Campus
This is an introduction to Southpoint’s history, values, mission, beliefs and structure. You’ll get connected to other people, and it will help you become a fulfilled part of the Southpoint family. Whether you’re a new member, a new attender, or a long time friend, this is for you!
CORE CLASS 2: INCREASING YOUR FAITH

Discover how to become a more Committed and Connected Christian through worship, Bible study, prayer, and groups.
CORE CLASS 3: IMPACTING THE WORLD

Discover how you can contribute to God’s work, using your talents, resources, and influence for Christ.
Join us at 7pm on the first Monday of each month at the Trenton campus! Men and women gather in their respective groups to spend concentrated time in prayer and raise up requests for our church, nation and world. No one is imposed upon to pray out loud.
Men’s group led by Bob Schartz (734-775-2802) in the prayer room behind the stage; Women’s group led by Debbie Hammar (734-782-2789) in the Comfort Room.
An opportunity for those who’ve just completed 8th – 12th grades to serve our neighbors in Southwest Detroit. We’ll clean and paint buildings, pick up trash in the park, and provide activities for the local children every day, who respond well to the gospel and build relationships with us! Cost is $75, including down payment of $25 due by July 20. Lunch and dinner are included, with buses from both Southpoint campuses. Pre-trip meetings on June 14 and July 19.

It’s the annual NexGen family pool party! Come on out for some wet and wacky fun! All ages are welcome – so bring a friend, or come alone and make some new ones! Cost is only $5/person, with a maximum of $20/family, and you’ll pay at the door.

“DEFINING WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST”
Come enjoy a meal with some girl time, and hear from women who’ve been through some defining moments and want to help you know who you are in Christ, and what your purpose is in this life. This is a free event, with a potluck-style brunch, so RSVP at the link below, and let us know if you’re able to bring something to contribute to the meal. Suggested minimum age is 14, due to subject matter.

Bring your family out for a free outdoor movie experience to see “Home”. Bring chairs and/or blankets, and be blown away by the theater-like sound and the massive outdoor screen. You can bring snacks or we will have a concessions stand provided by the Allen Park Recreation Foundation with proceeds going to them.
Seating, games, and give-aways start at 8pm, movie starts at 9pm.
