Where kids want to come back
We’re glad you’ve given us the opportunity to serve you and your child. We’re here to support and supplement you in your role as your child’s primary spiritual teacher, and to help lay a foundation for their own decision to follow Christ. Our trained leaders desire to build a meaningful relationship with your child, and are committed to giving your child the most positive experience possible. The goal is Win Downriver to Christ by creating kids who become:
- Committed: Kids worship in a high energy environment, and learn God’s Word in understandable and interesting ways.
- Connected: Kids connect in smaller groups with other kids to talk about what they’re learning.
- Contributing: Kids have opportunities to reach out to the world by showing God’s love in practical ways.
Our Programs Include:
Treasure Cove: Nursery & Preschool
In our Nursery (0-14 months), newborns and toddlers are gently cared for by loving adults and young people in a clean, quality environment, while parents attend worship. Preschool children experience biblical truths through age-appropriate instruction in an atmosphere of love and acceptance, filled with singing, stories, fun and games. Preschool rooms are divided by age:
- 15 – 23 Months
- 2 Years
- 3 Years
- 4 Years & Pre-Kindergarten
Son Island: Kindergarten – 3rd Grade
After energetic worship, children participate in crafts, games, and prayer that are designed to support the theme of the day. We teach the Bible in a way that’s fun and makes sense to kids.
Oasis: 4th-5th Grades
After beginning in Son Island with worship, Oasis kids have their own fun place where they can experience a lesson tailored for them.
Special Treasures: Children with special needs
A class for children in Kindergarten through 6th grade where they experience music, Bible-based teaching and fun activities in a safe and comfortable environment. (First Sunday Service at Trenton Campus only.)
We encourage you to observe your child’s class from time to time. If you would like to be involved in Children’s Ministry on a regular basis, please contact
“Kids Joining God’s Family” class is offered periodically where kids ages 8-12 can learn about what it means to become a Christian. Kids can also enjoy events such as Candypalooza, Easter Egg Hunt, and Summer Sports Camp. Kids may also choose to go to Wolverine Christian Service Camp in Columbiaville, MI.
In order to maintain a high standard of health, we ask your cooperation to assist in the following preventative measures. It is helpful if your child remains at home or with an adult guardian when ill. Children will not be allowed in class if they exhibit any of the following symptoms or communicable disease:
Fever (within the last 24 hours), Diarrhea, Vomiting, Chicken Pox (not fully scabbed over), Impetigo – runny clusters of blisters, Roseola, any rash illness on the body, Common Cold – which may or may not be at the communicable stage. Any child with a cough or colored nasal discharge, Flu, Meningitis, Lice, Scabies or Pinkeye will be refused entry.
Voluntary disclosure of HIV, AIDS, or Hepatitis B would be appreciated so we can protect your child, other children and teachers with correct health measures. Such disclosures will be held in strict confidence. Parents aware of any of the above should voluntarily exclude such child because:
- Symptoms may be communicable. This can cause hardship in other households, if symptoms are carried home.
- Symptoms cause the child to need special attention. With a group situation, equal attention must be given to all children, and such symptoms may require extra work from staff.
- Symptoms may require medication, which by law we cannot administer.
For Your Child’s Protection
Our computer check-in system allows you to specify who has permission to pick up your child. Every children’s worker has had a background check and training, and must submit to the Children’s Workers Guidelines. Our trained Security Team is always on patrol in the facility providing yet another safeguard. For info contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call (734)675-7575.
