The environment for Connection

In the early days of Christianity they not only gathered in crowds for worship and teaching but met in homes as “mini-churches” where they were really able to be the church and “do life” together [Acts 2:46-47, 19:9, 20:20].

C-Groups provide environments to experience biblical community by connecting with other people to build personal relationships and experience life change through meaningful interaction, develop spiritual growth through Bible-based discussions and prayer. You have the opportunity to live out life alongside others, going through the ups and downs, and practicing the “one anothers” of the New Testament (such as: love one another, pray for one another, encourage one another, serve one another, instruct one another, carry each other’s burdens, etc.).

You don’t have to be a Southpoint member or a Christ follower to participate in a group. You can relax in the knowledge that everyone’s at different stages spiritually.   No matter how little or how much you know about the Bible, you can enjoy a C-Group.  Groups are available for men, women, mixed, couples, and young adults.

Groups meet together on a regular basis (typically weekly or bi-weekly) for a certain number of weeks in homes, at church campuses or at restaurants. Some groups do Bible exploration, while others may do a topical book study. The recommended kind of group is called a “BiG iDEA Group” which goes through a discussion guide with ice breakers and questions that help to apply the weekend’s sermon.

Support Groups, Pointmen, Girlfriends Unlimited, IN2IT Networks, Sports Teams, Young Adults, and other specialty groups are also available.

How do I get connected?

You can choose from different entry ramps into groups. Try a group to see if it’s a good fit. Feel free to keep trying groups until you find one that’s right for you.

  • Check out the ‘Groups wall’ at the Trenton Campus, or go to Info Central in the lobby to learn about open groups.

Can I start my own group?

Yes! We love to have new C-Group leaders. You must first be a Southpoint member, and then it’s best to first become an Apprentice with a current C-Group Leader, to receive on-the-job training. You also will complete a one-time Leader Training Orientation. Check the events list online for any upcoming dates and times, or fill out this form to request it. Once you have completed the orientation, you can submit a C-Group Request Form with the information about your group. Contact our C-Groups Coordinator at with any other questions.
